New Features

Powerful new tools and capabilities added to PACO to help you work smarter and deliver even better care

Rocket Bar

Seamless patient linking between EMIS and Rocketbar:

You can now instantly connect EMIS and PACO using Rocketbar to save time and reduce manual typing. With the new features:

  • Get Current Patient: Pull the patient you currently have open in EMIS directly into PACO to start a Quick Send or Quick Form.

  • Swap Current Patient: Send a patient from PACO (e.g. from Patient Search, Message Inbox, or Health Form Inbox) straight into EMIS with one click.

This feature is available on Windows only and currently supports EMIS only. We are working on adding support for TPP and making it available in the main PACO platform in the future.

What this means for you:

    • No more copying patient details between systems

    • Jump between PACO and EMIS quickly and easily

    • Faster, smoother communication workflows

Improvements

Enhancements that make PACO more intuitive and efficient - Your feedback in action

Health Forms

Single consolidated notifications for alarmed Health Forms:

We’ve updated the way alarm notifications are sent for Health Forms. Instead of issuing one notification for each alarmed question, PACO now sends a single, consolidated notification whenever a submitted Health Form contains any alarms. This notification includes the total number of alarmed questions and a direct link to the submission.

Previously, reviewers could receive multiple alerts for the same Health Form, creating unnecessary noise and increasing the risk of alerts being missed. The new approach simplifies triage and ensures important information is surfaced in a clearer, more manageable way.

What this means for you:

    • Fewer notifications, with one clear alert per alarmed Health Form

    • Easier and quicker triage, with alarm counts shown upfront

    • Reduced risk of missed or ignored alerts due to notification overload

Lazy Saving Health Forms:

Lazy Saving allows certain front-end processes to become background processes —such as preloading a configured booking slot (e.g., to a triage list) – allowing them to book in the background whilst you continue reviewing other forms, rather than making you wait for the configurations to load before saving. This means faster response times when reviewing and filing forms.

We’ve also updated the available saving options:

  • Save to Record – Files the form and books any preconfigured appointments.

  • Save and Follow Up – Files the form and books any preconfigured appointments and then triggers the Quick Send and Quick Form pop-up (as before).

This change comes in response to feedback that the pop-ups were sometimes unnecessary and slowed down workflow.

Note: The Lazy Saving enhancement currently only applies to the initial form review. Follow-up actions such as Quick Send and Quick Form will behave as usual and still wait for any slot configurations to load before continuing.

Fixes

Resolved bugs to keep PACO running seamlessly when it matters most.

Health Forms Inbox

Clearing Alarm Notifications After Health Form Review:

We’ve fixed an issue where alarm-triggered notifications stayed visible even after the related Health Form had already been reviewed and completed.

What this means for you:

    • Alarm notifications now clear automatically once a form is reviewed

    • Fewer unnecessary alerts

    • A clearer, more reliable notification system across Rocketbar and the Web App

Appointments

Cancel & Notify now sends messages correctly across organisations:

We’ve fixed an issue where using Cancel & Notify on an appointment from another organisation did not send the cancellation message to the patient, even though the appointment was successfully cancelled and no error was shown on screen.

Previously, if a user in Practice B cancelled and notified an appointment that actually belonged to Practice A, the system built the message using Practice B’s details instead of Practice A’s. This caused the message to fail in the background due to a mismatch in practice credentials, so the patient was never informed despite the appointment being cancelled.

What this means for you:

    • Patients now reliably receive cancellation messages even when appointments are managed across multiple organisations

    • Reduced clinical and operational risk from patients arriving for appointments that have been cancelled without their knowledge

    • Greater confidence that Cancel & Notify behaves consistently, regardless of which practice context you are working in

Quick Send

Health Forms stay attached in Quick Send, even with brief network drops:

We’ve fixed an issue in Quick Send where a brief loss of network connection could cause an attached Health Form to be lost from the message you were preparing. Additional safeguards have been added so that the Health Form attachment is retained correctly when connectivity drops momentarily.

Previously, if your connection flickered at the wrong time, the Health Form could silently detach, increasing the risk of sending an incomplete message or needing to redo work. This has now been resolved.

What this means for you:

    • More reliable Health Form attachments when using Quick Send

    • Reduced risk of sending messages without the intended Health Form

    • Fewer interruptions and less re-work when network connectivity is unstable

PACO Connect

Appointment duration now displays correctly in PACO Connect preview:

We’ve fixed an issue in PACO Connect where appointment durations longer than an hour were displayed incorrectly in the preview screen when editing a slot. Previously, times were effectively “rounded down” to show only the remaining minutes past the hour.

This meant that a 60-minute slot appeared as “0 mins”, 70 minutes appeared as “10 mins”, and 130 minutes also appeared as “10 mins”, making it confusing to see the true length of the appointment at a glance. The preview now shows the full duration correctly.

What this means for you:

    • Clear, accurate display of full appointment length in the preview screen

    • Reduced risk of booking errors caused by misleading time information

    • More confidence when reviewing and editing longer appointment slots
